Who knew Uncle Bruce was such a snob! Poor guy didn’t realize that everyone in the country didn’t go to Central High School and Penn – a rude awakening to meet the majority of his fellow recruits, I guess. He’s hoping for a non-infantry classification – that’s the “pipe dream” he’s referring to. Stay tuned!

Dear Mom,

I’m shipping out today.  I don’t know where and won’t find out until I get there.  It’s impossible to guess, by the different fellows going, altho most of them are nice fellows and not too dumb, in fact two others (at least) are college men besides me.  But don’t get any pipe dreams about my classification yet.  So don’t expect any mail for a few days unless we can mail letters on the train.  I’ll write as soon as possible.

Love, Bru
