We just had a very welcome visit from a girls’ softball team that’s playing at the McClosky Field. Each girl was loaded down with cookies, candy and fruit and they in turn loaded us figuratively and literally with goodies. My table is piled high with 2 Baby Ruths, about a dozen assorted cookies and an enormous peach. I can see where 9 dinner trays are going to be left empty tonite.
The ward is filling up again. 2 transfers from private rooms and one overseas man from New Guinea. All seem like nice fellows, we had a good time last nite. One fellow swiped a few bags of popcorn from the Red Cross party and handed them out to us.
It’s another beautiful day, sunny and not too hot. What’s it like in dear old Philly?
Again I asked the major how much longer do I have to stay in traction. He just laughed. Strange old geezer. Good man, tho.
I can’t think of anything else,
