Well finally I’m shipping out on Monday. It was practically all by my own doings. When the major came around this morning I asked him if he heard anything else about my re-assignment and he answered no. So then I asked him if I could go back to duty and he wrote it down on my papers. Later I went to see his secretary to try to ship out Monday instead of Tomorrow thereby missing a weekend. I gave her an excuse about expecting some money in the mail over the weekend and I didn’t want to miss it. She smiled and said she’d fix it up.
This afternoon I took off to N., Camp to see the classification officer but he couldn’t help me in anything.
I came back in time for a St. Pat’s party at the Red Cross and to take part in a game and win 4-6¢ air mail stamps. Do you need them? If so, tell me.
Tomorrow I’m going to visit Ft. Worth instead of Dallas. Another fellow and I, if we can, are going to take off in the morning. Since we’re both shipping out Monday nothing much can happen.
